Abstract

The media play a major role in reporting events, managing conflicts and directing them, as news coverage is usually influenced by the ideology of those media outlets according to the country of coverage. Categories that can be counted, measured, and identified with the visual frames used, especially after the news of the earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria was published on news sites, as well as the public's attitudes towards them. The study uses the theory of visual framing.
The study used the survey method, both descriptive and analytical, to describe and analyze the implications of framing images for the earthquake in both Turkey and Russia. The questionnaire included a sample of 400 individuals
The results of the study indicated that: The international news websites presented the press pictures of the earthquake through frames aimed at presenting the event to the reader with a vision that bears sympathy and is based at the same time on logical evidence. Children and people, a few days after the earthquake excite my feelings" (human interest frames) with the highest relative weight of 89%, which means the highest agreement from the audience of the study sample that the pictures of stories about children and people a few days after the earthquake arouse their feelings, which was evidence that Divine providence takes care of children and saves them. These are stories that capture the interest of readers and attract their attention, as they are characterized by strangeness, and human interests are among the news values that attract the public's attention to them.
