Frameworks of Presenting the 100 Million Healthy Lives Campaign in Egyptian New Websites

Abstract

This study seeks to achieve a major goal of monitoring and analyzing the mechanisms of news coverage of the 100 Million Health campaign in public news sites by studying the Egyptian news websites: Al-Youm Al-Saba and Masrawy. It also aims to answer a major question: What is the nature of the news frameworks used in the news coverage of the 100 million Health Lives campaign on the news sites under study during the campaign phases (introduction, campaign itself, evaluation)?
The study reached several results, the most important of which are:
1- The results of the study showed that Al-Youm Al-Saba and Masrawy websites dealt with the campaign from a political and national perspective more than the medical side, and used “government officials” as sources of information to give the published topics importance to the public and influence the target audience, but they overlooked reliance on specialists despite the importance of these sources. To point out the disease, its history, its risks, its impact on society and its devastation for the Egyptians for years, and to define the public more with the term "noncommunicable diseases" and their dangers to human health.
2- The results of the study showed the prominence of the preparations framework in the news coverage at the beginning of each stage of the campaign and the emergence of the responsibility framework, official frameworks, support frameworks and awareness frameworks during the campaign itself and at the end of each stage the emergence of success frameworks.
3- The results of the study showed that the language coverage in the sites of Al-Youm Al-Saba and Masrawy was patriotism by (99.2%) and (94.4%) and that the direction of coverage at the sites of the seventh day and Masrawy was (positive) by (99.6%) and (94%). .
3- The results of the study showed that the coverage of Al-Youm Al-Saba and Masrawy news websites depend on publishing the press news at a rate of (93.07%) and (97.6%) in following up the events of the campaign and its course in the various governorates and the actions of officials to follow it up and support all parties concerned with this presidential campaign. The position of external parties towards it and (the press report) came in the preliminary stage by showing the places in which the campaign will be held, the parties to which it will participate, the targeted areas and who will participate in it.
4- The results of the study showed that the websites of Al-Youm Al-Saba and Masrawy relied on the sources of information in the news coverage on (a government official) and (the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health) in order to gain the published topics about the campaign credibility with the masses, which contributes to convincing the masses. Topics highlight the role of the Minister of Health in preparing the campaign and present her statements about the campaign to introduce it, its objectives, how to prepare for it, the whereabouts of the campaign, persuade citizens to participate, and her invitations to civil society organizations to participate in the campaign in a way that contributes to facilitating the task of implementing the campaign and increasing citizens' awareness of the goals of the initiative .
5- The researcher noticed a decrease in the rate of news coverage on the two study sites and touched on side issues that are not part of the campaign’s work during the evaluation phase, which obliged her to extend the evaluation period until the end of May to find out real tangible results.
