Abstract

This study seeks to investigate the current status of journalism education within academic institutions in Egypt in the context of advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital transformation. It examines the changes and developments that have emerged in the journalism profession as a result of these technological shifts, and evaluates the readiness of faculty members to prepare students to engage effectively with AI technologies and digital transformation in alignment with labor market requirements. The research sample consisted of 30 faculty members from journalism departments. Findings indicate statistically significant differences in the anticipated medium-term future scenarios (within the next ten years) for journalism education in Egyptian academic institutions (both public and private) based on demographic characteristics (gender, age, and years of professional experience in journalism). Furthermore, statistically significant differences were identified in the anticipated medium-term future scenarios for journalism education in these institutions according to the academic rank of the participants.
