Abstract

The research question is to identify the treatment of Arab political issues in Arab and foreign Arabic-language news channels. The theoretical importance of the study was determined to be an addition to the studies of media research trends of documentary films dealing with Arab political issues in Arab and foreign news channels directed in the Arabic language. The applied importance was determined by the study's attempt to monitor studies that dealt with Arab political issues through documentary films. The study also aimed to identify the research topics and issues addressed by the research on documentaries dealing with political issues, and the most important results reached by the research sample of this study, as well as monitoring Arab political issues at the level of agenda, theoretical frameworks, methodology, and research tools. A literature review method was employed by applying the Critical Review Method to analyse the literature. The study population included all studies that dealt with the treatment of documentary films on Arab political issues available and published in foreign and Arab peer-reviewed journals, from 2011 to 2024. The sample included (38) researches. At the end of the study, a proposed vision for the development of research on the treatment of documentary films on Arab political issues in Arab news channels was presented, in light of the research addressed in this study, and the researcher can propose a vision for the development of Arab research at the level of the agenda of research issues, theoretical frameworks, and research methods.
