The implications of digital developments on educational media from the point of view of academics: Prospective study

Abstract

This study was launched with a general goal of revealing the implications that digital developments have on educational media from the point of view of academics, whether from a theoretical or practical standpoint. In order to achieve that goal, the current study used the descriptive futuristic approach, “Dalvai,” by relying on a tool Measure to add The required data, represented in a questionnaire sheet prepared according to the three-point Likert scale, was applied to a sample consisting of (30) respondents from the faculty members of the educational media departments in Egyptian universities, The study concluded with many results, indicating that the degree of interest of the university and college administration in providing various types of financial, technical, and technical support that educational media departments need to keep pace with current digital developments was “medium,” in addition to the lack of provision of augmented reality platforms and programs that help in the transition from Traditional educational environments into interactive and virtual educational environments, allowing the integration of artificial intelligence applications and metaverse technologies into teaching specific media courses.
The results also showed that the study sample had a high degree of agreement with all of the study’s proposals for developing those departments and helping them keep pace with current digital developments, starting with setting digital visions and strategies, through creating educational, media, and pedagogical programs that contain digital applications, concluding with the necessity of follow-up, evaluation, and evaluation. The periodic is prepared by the university and college administration.
