The drama of digital platforms between influences and production policies (Second level analytical study)

Abstract

The study aimed to examine the characteristics and the strategies of the production of drama in digital platforms, which is considered a second-level qualitative analytical study. The study relied on reviewing and analyzing the Arab and foreign scientific heritage of Arab and foreign researches and studies. the sample of the study consisted of 130 studies divided into 21 Arabic studies & 109 foreign studies, during the period from 2014 to 2022.
The study analyzing elements were: the studies analyzing the content of drama on digital platforms, the studies concerned with the audience and effects of drama on digital platforms, as well as the studies that investigated the strategies used for producing and marketing drama on digital platforms.
The results of the study showed that most of the researches on the drama of digital platforms, were in the media specialization, as well as most of the studies were quantitative descriptive studies. The results also pointed that the most of the analyzed studies used the questionnaire tool, in addition to using different theoretical frameworks in dealing with the researches’ topics. And the most used theory was the theory of uses and gratifications.
The study recommended paying attention to interdisciplinary and qualitative studies, in addition to applying the experimental and semi-experimental methods more in the researches examining the drama in digital platforms.
