In light of the rapid transformations of the media landscape, it is necessary to secure the citizens’ right of media literacy as a right that guarantees them effective participation in the public life and enable them to criticaly evaluate the content and information sources. In addition, communication researchers should investigate the issues related to media literacy and how to secure that right in order to understand the profound impact of it on social relations, feelings, values, and individual behaviors.
