The Egyptian public‘s reliance on educational and cultural competition programs on Egyptian and Arab satellite channels as a source of information and cultural awareness

Abstract

The study monitors and analyzes the role of educational and cultural competition programs presented on Egyptian and Arab satellite channels in shaping the intellectual and cultural awareness of the Egyptian public and the extent to which the public depends on these programs as a source for obtaining information and increasing knowledge in various fields.
The study was conducted on an intentional sample of the Egyptian public who watches educational, cultural and teletext competition programs presented on Egyptian and Arab satellite channels. The sample is 300 people.
The study reached several results, the most important of which are:

The high percentage of viewers watching the educational and cultural competition programs presented on Egyptian and Arab satellite channels and the program “Geniuses are Able to Differently presented on Al –Qahera wa Al-Nas channel ranked first in the list of favorite programs among the audience of the study sample.
The majority of the study sample depends on educational and cultural competition programs presented on Egyptian and Arab satellite channels as a source of information and cultural awareness.
The motive of understanding is one of the most motives of the audience’s dependence on educational and cultural competition programs, and the majority of the effects of dependence were cognitive. which is consistent with motives of understanding, which occupied a large proportion of the motives of dependence.
There is a direct medium, statistically significant correlation between the intensity of audience’s viewing of cultural educational competition programs and the degree of their reliance on these programs as a source of information and cultural awareness.
There is a direct medium, statistically significant correlation between the degree of dependence of the study sample audience on cultural educational competition programs as a source of information and cultural awareness and the cognitive, behavioral and emotional effects.
