Role of official initiatives in increasing awareness and supporting identity of Egyptian youth

Abstract

The study aimed at observing the content of social media pages of " Hayah Karima initiative, Presidential Leadership Program (PLP), and Coordination of Parties Youth and Politicians", analyzing the posts of these pages and how they contribute to supporting the Egyptian identity, and forming the perceptions of youth.
The study used multi tools such as: SWOT tool, Content analysis and Questionnaires to 400 of those pages' followers. Also it sought to introduce a proposal for improving and upgrading the content and media strategy of those pages.
The study concluded to a number of important results such as: a correlated relation between the exposure of the sample of youth to the content of those pages and their tendencies towards them, also a correlated relation between their motives to follow the pages and the youth's tendencies towards the national initiatives. Thus the study recommends that there should be more given attention to the content and feed of those pages and to focus on special content specifically for youth.
