The current study attempts to identify one of the visual content industries represented in the digital drama industry produced specifically for on-demand viewing platforms and its impact on the traditional TV drama industry, and thus identify one of the forms of relationship between traditional media and new media platforms in the field of drama. The study tries to monitor the opinions of experts regarding the original Drama production of the platforms and its impact on the TV drama industry presented on traditional channels, by analyzing the features and characteristics of the concept of media convergence. The current study relies on the qualitative approach that depends on the qualitative method in monitoring and interpreting the research problem through the in-depth interview tool. The sample included (22) experts. The results of the study indicated the agreement of experts to consider video-on-demand platforms as a threat to traditional television and reduce the segment of viewers for it due to the possibilities offered by these platforms of controlling the viewing experience.
