The Egyptian public interacted with the official pages of the ministries during crises: An applied study on the official page of the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population via Facebook during the Omicron virus crisis

Abstract

The study sought to identify the public’s interaction with the publications of the Ministry of Health and Population through Facebook, and the study relied on the theory of dialogic communication, and how to use it in publications. The first case of infection with the omicron mutant of the Corona virus (Covid-19) was recorded in the Arab Republic of Egypt until March 2, 2022.
The results of the study showed the audience’s interaction with the Ministry of Health and Population publications in a large way, as it was clear from the results that the principles of the interactive dialogue were successfully employed by the audience, which led to an increase in interaction with the publications, as the audience’s interaction with the publications in which the interactive dialogue was used increased than the publications that It was devoid of the principles of the interactive dialogue, and the forms of interaction varied between admiration, comment and participation. The results also showed that one of the most important principles of the interactive dialogue that was used was the hashtag, answering questions, pointing, and asking questions. The results also showed the use of texts and infographics in a very large percentage in publications, followed by videos, images and links.
