The effect of using knowledge trips via the web in acquiring press release writing skills among educational media students in the faculties of specific education: Quasi-experimental study

Abstract

The current research aims to identify the effect of using knowledge trips via the web to acquire press release writing skills for students of specific education faculties. What is required is knowledge navigation through the web, an achievement test for news writing skills, an assessment card for writing a press release, and the study tools were applied to a sample of (30) male and female students of the second year in the Department of Educational Media, Faculty of Specific Education, Menoufia University, The study relied on one experimental group to conduct the cognitive journey on it, and the researcher used the theory of technological determinism in interpreting the results of the study, and one of the results of the study was that there is a statistically significant difference between the average scores of students in the pre and post applications of the achievement test in favor of the post application, as the validity of the third hypothesis was proven. And it is the absence of a statistically significant difference between the average scores of males and females in the pre-application of the achievement test, which confirms the hypothesis or means of communication in it hot and cold,    The results also indicated that there is no statistically significant difference between the average scores of males and females in the post application of the achievement test, which confirms the success of the cognitive journey in all students’ acquisition of the skills and arts of press release and their understanding of the knowledge journey and its educational content, and there is a statistically significant difference between the two actual hypothetical averages. The scores of the students on the product evaluation card (applied afterwards) in favor of the actual average and that the value of the effect size = 7.13 (exceeded the correct one), which indicates that the level of the effect is very large, and that there is a significant and important impact of using knowledge journeys through the web in developing news writing skills journalist.
