Cyber security and its relationship to media content considering Egypt’s vision 2030

Abstract

There is a close relationship between media and the achievement of
intellectual and societal security in the era of digital age and new digital
media, in which their roles have become primarily reciprocal between the
giver and the recipient. Hence, the study aimed to identify the relationship < /p>
between media content and its role in achieving cybersecurity in light of
Egypt’s vision 2030. A questionnaire consisting of 30 phrases and three
axes was performed, in which the study reached to define the concept of
cybersecurity, electronic threats, and the risks of using the Internet. In
addition, explanation of the nature of online communication crimes related
to the media, determination of media content roles in achieving security
awareness, and the impact of media content in achieving of intellectual
security in order to achieve strategies for combating cybercrime in the
information age, based on Egypt’s Vision 2030, were identified. The study
revealed a positive trend for media professionals, technology and
communication experts towards the relationship between cybersecurity and
media contents messages. Moreover, it illustrated obstacles and difficulties
in controlling of media contents in order to support the achievement of
cybersecurity in absence of a unified regulatory bodies and weakness of
oversight mechanisms and legislations. Furthermore, the study elucidated
the need for a national law to govern deviations. Base on the above, the
role of media in achieving cybersecurity according to Egypt’s Vision 2030
has been determined aiming to raise the awareness and to create a broad
popular base capable of confronting cyber threats.
