This study aimed at acknowledging the role of Social Networking Sites (SNS) in spreading the culture of voluntary work for the Emirati youth through disclosing the methods used by the voluntary institutions to motivate the Emirati youth to delve into the voluntary work. In addition to monitoring the communication strategies used by the voluntary institutions through their pages on Social Networking Sites (SNS) to popularize the culture of this voluntary work, also it tracks the density and motives of the Emirati youth in using Social Networking Sites (SNS), their attraction to them, and their behavioral affective, and cognitive effects due to using Social Media.
This study depends on the informative survey approach using the interview tool of people who are concerned with communication in some of the voluntary institutions (study sample) and the questionnaire tool by applying it on the Emirati youth. The study results also signified the density increase of Emirati youth who use Social Networking Sites (SNS) by 73,5 % and the rising motives of Emirati youth who are exposed to the voluntary work pages through Social Networking Sites (SNS) by 74%. They are exposed to such pages by utilitarian motives more than ritual ones.
The results showed that Instagram, Snapchat, and WhatsApp are considered one of the most used Social Networking Sites (SNS) which the institutions depend on to spread the culture of voluntary work, also the results stressed that there is an associative relation of a statistical significance between the degree of dependence on Social Networking Sites (SNS) in getting the voluntary information and the effects resulting from this dependence. Also, there is an associative relation of a statistical significance between the motives of dependence on Social Networking Sites (SNS) in getting the voluntary information and the resulting effects.
