The extent to which youth use social media in the educational field in United Arab Emirates: An empirical study

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the role of social networks in the educational field, by highlighting the positives of social networks in education, and the optimal use of these networks in the teaching and learning process, so the research problem crystallizes in knowing the extent to which young people use these means from an educational point of view. This study depends on descriptive research, which aims mainly to describe and quantitatively determine the characteristics of the phenomena in question. For the purpose of achieving the goal of the study, the researcher used the descriptive analytical method. The researcher also used the questionnaire tool, where she designed a special questionnaire for this purpose. The questionnaire included various factors and means. The study reached several results, the most important of which are:
- The high rate of daily use of social networking sites.
- The high use of social media by respondents in searching for information.
- Social media has an important and effective role in the educational process.
