The role of the press in prioritizing the issues of higher education among the elite "A field study"

It is worth noting that the reality of education in Egypt, especially higher education, raises many problems, including the lack of equal opportunities among those wishing to higher education, in addition to the high level of unemployment among university students due to the increasing gap in supply and demand.
Realizing the necessity of facing these challenges, the Higher Education Development Strategy in Egypt 2016-2030 was launched, which aims to transform universities from consumers of knowledge into a producer of it, to match disciplines and the labour market, and to achieve equal opportunities among students who desire higher education.
Hence the importance of the media in general, and the press in particular, given the great role that they can play - as indicated by the results of some previous studies - if they are used and benefited from, they will make an effective contribution to addressing issues and problems of education as it is one of the important sources of information for various events and issues in society, as well as for The relationship of mutual influence between the priorities of media issues and the public's priorities have occupied a great deal of researchers' interest in the field of agenda-setting studies.
By informing the researcher of the available sources related to the topic of the research, it was found that there are a few Arab academic studies - especially the Egyptian ones - that dealt with the role of newspapers in arranging the priorities of the elite towards various issues, especially education issues, despite the interest of some studies in monitoring the role of the press in addressing these issues.
