The competition faced by the press websites has imposed the necessity to take advantage of the capabilities offered by the Internet, in order to be able to provide more distinctive journalistic services, and to attract the largest number of users. The research problem is is focused on monitoring the use of the press websites for multimedia, and the research relies on the method of sample surveying, in addition to containing an analytical part, in order to analyze a sample of electronic press websites (Al-Ahram newspaper website - The British Times website - The New York Times website) regarding their use of multimedia, thus the study is relying on the comparative approach, in order to compare the use of these three press websites for multimedia (video - audio - infographic - pictures). The study reached several results, the most important of which are:
1- Al-Ahram newspaper website is not using video, and this is also confirmed by the result of the interview with Engineer Ahmed Atris, who designed the Al-Ahram newspaper website.
2- The British newspaper Al-Ahram and The Times did not use the sound component in their websites during the study period by 100%, while the American New York Times relied on the voice component in its website, whether it was associated with the topics or 100% separately during the period of study.
3- With regard to the quality of the voice that the American New York Times relied on through its website, the newspaper's website used the sound quality in the category "speech" by 100%, and the sound quality used the category "music" by 100%, and used the sound with the effects of Natural sound by 80.8%, and depends on the sound element, with the dependence of industrial sound effects by 65.4%.
4- With regard to the possibility of downloading the audio from the site by the users (visitors), the American New York Times website made it possible for its users of the users to download the audio contained in the site by 100% during the study period.
5- News websites have resorted to using videos to cover events, activities and cultural events. This type of media has helped spread the availability of tools and technologies such as video cameras, digital cameras and mobile phones, which is called “video journalism.” The websites of electronic newspapers are invested all over the world. Especially the United States - intensively for audio playback applications, which is a new trend that should be watched.
