Abstract

The importance of this study stems from the significant changes imposed by the digital journalism environment on the tastes of news consumers and the intense competition for readers from various news sources and currents. The study aimed to investigate the stance of the reading audience across different social strata towards the news presented to them through digital news portals, and to describe and analyze patterns of news behavior among the audience within the framework of multiple news platforms and the change in news values.
The study utilized the reception and reception theory, the survey method, and the questionnaire tool, which was applied to a sample of news portal readers consisting of 600 individuals in the governorates.
The study concluded that there are multiple patterns of news behavior despite the shift to the digital environment, including the digital model, the traditional model, and the integrative model, which reflects the combination of digital and traditional patterns in interacting with news portals.
