المستخلص

The lockdown during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic challenged all the education systems worldwide. Many governments were forced to turn the education system to online learning only. Mass communication university students had to learn their practical classes online, therefore this research is a cross-culture exploratory study between Malaysian and Egyptian mass communication students to explore their acceptance in learning media practical classes that need face-to-face interaction, and the different multimedia approaches to engage students and get the required output of the course. This study is based on the Technological Determinism theory. Technological Determinism theory was propounded in 1962 by Marshall McLuhan and it states that media technology shapes how we as individuals in a society think, feel, and act, and how the society operates as we move from one technological age to another, the results highlighted the cultural differences between students in accepting the online learning, also the difference between the Malaysian & Egyptian educators in using the different multimedia tools to digitize and gamify the curriculum to students and finally recommendations from Egyptian and Malaysian students to convert the creative media writing & editing course to E-learning even after the end of the pandemic
