The Effectiveness of a Program Based on Google Docs Applications and Padlet in Developing Media Translation Skills Among Students at Educational Media Department

Abstract

The current study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a program based on Google Docs applications and Padlet in developing media translation skills among students at educational media department. This research is dependent on the quasi experimental method.  The participants of the study were hundred (N= 100) third- year students enrolled in the Educational Media Department at the Faculty of Specific Education, Benha University. They were divided into an experimental group (N= 50) and control group (N= 50). The researcher prepared a media translation skills checklist to identify the media translation skills require to the participants of the study. She also prepared media translation skills test as an instrument for collecting data. The  researcher in the media text and translation course taught  to experimental group students through using Google Docs applications and Padlet while the control group students taught by the regular method. The test was applied to both groups to know the development of the media translation skills among them. The results of the study confirmed that the program based on Google Docs applications and Padlet is effective in developing media translation skills among experimental group students at educational media department, faculty of Specific Education, Benha University.
